HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer

I discontinued HP Instant Ink but I am getting Instant Ink error messages when using standard ink cartridges.

I understand you're encountering Instant Ink error messages even after discontinuing HP Instant Ink and switching to standard ink cartridges, there are a few steps you can take to resolve the issue:

 

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve various issues with printers. Turn off your printer, wait for a few moments, and then turn it back on.
  • Reset the Printer: Many printers have a reset option in the settings menu. Check your printer's manual to see how to perform a reset. This might help clear any lingering settings related to HP Instant Ink.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Manufacturers often release firmware updates to fix bugs and improve compatibility. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's settings menu or by visiting HP's website. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Remove Instant Ink Account: Log in to your HP Instant Ink account (if you still have access) and remove your printer from the account. This should prevent any further communication between the printer and the Instant Ink service.
