I bought a new HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 and it is not running paper or printing. What could be the problem?

Hi @NellieM,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 is not feeding paper or printing, here are some possible causes and solutions.

Paper Feed Issues

  • Check for paper jams: Open the printer and remove any stuck paper.
  • Ensure correct paper loading: Load paper properly into the tray, aligning the edges and not overloading it.
  • Clean the rollers: Dust or dirt on the rollers can prevent paper from feeding. Try cleaning them with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.

Cartridge Issues

  • Check the ink cartridges: Make sure the cartridges are properly installed.
  • Try a cartridge reset: Remove the cartridges, turn off the printer for a few minutes, then reinstall them.
  • Run a cartridge alignment: If the printer has an option to align the cartridges, do so from the printer menu or HP software.

Connection and Driver Issues

  • Check the printer status: Make sure it is set as the default printer in your computer settings.
  • Reinstall the drivers: Download and install the latest drivers from HP’s website (HP Support).
  • Try a different USB port or cable: If using a wired connection, ensure the USB cable is properly connected.

Printer Reset

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for about 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on.
  4. Try printing a test page.

If none of these steps work, does the printer display any error messages or blinking lights? That might help narrow down the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
