Hi @florimai

Thank you for posting your query, I will be happy to help you!

If your HP LaserJet Pro M148 or M149 printer displays a "Load Tray 1, Letter Plain" message even after pressing 'OK', follow these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Ensure Proper Paper Loading:

    • Confirm that the paper loaded in Tray 1 matches the type and size specified in the printer's settings. The paper should be plain and of letter size.
    • Make sure the paper is not curled or stuck together and is loaded properly into the tray with the paper guides aligned correctly.
  2. Check Tray Settings:

    • Access the printer's control panel.
    • Navigate to the paper or tray settings menu.
    • Verify that the settings for Tray 1 indicate the correct paper size and type (e.g., 'Letter, Plain').
    • Adjust the settings if necessary to match the paper loaded.
  3. Update Printer Firmware:

    • Visit the HP Support website to check for any available firmware updates for your LaserJet Pro M148 or M149. Updating the firmware can resolve issues related to incorrect paper detection.
  4. Reset the Printer:

    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Wait for about 30 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on again. This can sometimes clear error messages and reset the printer’s internal settings.
  5. Use HP Smart App:

    • Utilize the HP Smart app for additional setup guidance and troubleshooting help. It can provide diagnostics and help you adjust settings directly from your mobile device.
  6. Check for Obstructions:

    • Ensure there are no obstructions or debris in Tray 1 that might be triggering a false error message.
  7. Manual Paper Feed:

    • If the problem persists, try manually feeding the paper through the printer to see if it accepts the paper. This might temporarily bypass any detection issues.

I hope this helps!
