Hi @Rvinatt

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for laying that out—when your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 shows as offline despite a working Wi-Fi connection, it’s usually a case of Windows not properly detecting the printer’s IP address, or the print spooler service misfiring. Since HP Smart diagnostics didn’t resolve it, let’s walk through a deeper recovery plan to get you printing again.

Step-by-Step Fix for “Printer Offline” on HP OfficeJet Pro 9010

1. Restart the Print Spooler Service

This clears stalled jobs and resets communication.

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter
  • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click > Restart
  • Wait 10 seconds, then try printing again

2. Set the Printer as Default

Windows may be routing jobs to a virtual or offline queue.

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners
  • Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010
  • Click Set as default
  • If multiple instances of the printer appear, remove all but one

3. Assign a Static IP to the Printer

Dynamic IP changes can break the connection.

  • On the printer’s control panel:
    • Go to Setup > Network Settings > Wireless Summary
    • Note the current IP address
  • Type that IP into your browser to open the Embedded Web Server (EWS)
  • Go to Network > IPv4 Configuration
    • Set Manual IP and assign a static IP
  • Re-add the printer using this IP:
    • Go to Printers & Scanners > Add a printer > Add manually > Add by IP address

4. Reinstall the Printer Driver

Corrupted drivers can cause offline status even with good connectivity.

5. Disable SNMP Status Monitoring (Advanced)

Some routers block SNMP, causing Windows to misreport printer status.

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  • Right-click your printer > Printer Properties > Ports tab
  • Select the port in use > Click Configure Port
  • Uncheck SNMP Status Enabled
  • Click OK and test printing

Let me know if you'd like help assigning a static IP or interpreting your network configuration—I’ll walk you through it.

Let’s get your OfficeJet Pro 9010 back online and printing reliably.
