@Deborah75075, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Experiencing an error message or difficulty printing, even for a test page, can be frustrating. Here are several steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue with an HP printer:

Check Printer Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the power source and your computer (via USB, wireless, or wired network).
  • Restart both your printer and computer to reset any temporary connectivity issues.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to HP's official support page to download the latest software and drivers specifically for your printer model. Having updated drivers can resolve compatibility and performance issues.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer to ensure there are no paper jams. Carefully remove any stuck paper.

Verify Printer Settings:

  • Ensure the printer is set as the default print device and that there are no pending print jobs that might be causing the backlog.
  • Clear any stuck print queues.

Firmware Update:

  • Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve persistent issues. Check HP’s support page for any firmware updates for your specific model.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
