I am not the most computer literate person and have installed the software to drive a HP4130e printer. However it will only try and print to Quick Notes, which is no use to me. I need it to print using paper and have no idea how to set the printer up to do this. please help.

Hi @Bailey65,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your printer settings might be configured to print to a digital note-taking application called Quick Notes instead of printing to physical paper. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you change the printer settings and ensure it prints on paper.

  • Open Printer Settings: First, ensure that your printer is connected to your computer and turned on. Then, go to your computer's Control Panel or Settings (depending on your operating system) and search for "Devices" or "Printers."
  • Select Your Printer: In the list of available printers, locate your HP4130e printer and select it.
  • Printer Properties: Once you've selected your printer, look for an option like "Printer Properties" or "Manage Printer." Click on it to access the printer settings.
  • Default Printing Preferences: Within the printer properties, there should be an option for "Default Printing Preferences" or something similar. Click on it.
  • Paper Size and Type: In the default printing preferences, you should see settings related to paper size, paper type, orientation, etc. Make sure the settings match the paper you have loaded in the printer. You can usually select standard paper sizes like A4, Letter, etc., and choose the appropriate paper type (plain, glossy, etc.).
  • Output Destination: Look for an option that specifies where the output should be directed. It might be set to "Quick Notes" or a similar digital destination. Change this setting to "Printer" or "Paper."
  • Apply Changes: Once you've adjusted the settings according to your preferences, click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes.
  • Test Print: To ensure that the changes have been applied successfully, try printing a test page. You can usually do this by right-clicking on your printer in the Devices/Printers menu and selecting "Print Test Page."

By following these steps, you should be able to configure your HP4130e printer to print on paper instead of directing output to Quick Notes or any other digital destination.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
