Are you able to bypass this error and reach the home screen on the printer?
Let us try these steps:
Reset the printer
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Check for any paper jams inside the printer and make sure the printer carriage is moving freely. Refer to the steps from - A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays

I have tried that with no success. I will need to go and buy another one. This was bought in May 2017 from Staples. It's too bad nothing lasts long. Thanks for your suggestions...
It seems like a hardware issue with the printer.
If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
