HP Recommended

Pirnter prints a gibberish of ASCII characters over a print job. Even when the printer is disconnected from the computer and I try to print the demo page from the printer selection switch.

 

Is this thing fried?  Or is there a solution?

If it is doing it stand alone I would guess either corrupted firmware or a hardware failure. If you perform a factory reset and update the firmware and still have a problem then my opinion is the formatter is broken. Depending on the page count of the printer it may or may not be worth fixing.
