I have an HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M479fdw and I have an error code "B808D6C8." It has not gone away after resetting the printer.

I managed to resolve this error on two of these printers just by rebooting both of my ASUS routers (wifi6e,mesh).  After a printer reboot the issue is gone.

@Frodobaer, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M479fdw printer.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

It seems like the error code "B808D6C8" on your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw might be related to network connectivity issues, given that rebooting your routers resolved the issue for two of the printers. Here are some steps and tips that may help in understanding and preventing this issue:

Potential Causes and Solutions:

  1. Network Connectivity Problems:

    • The error might indicate a temporary network connectivity issue. Ensure your printer is connected to a stable network, and the signal strength is adequate if using a Wi-Fi connection.
  2. Router and Network Settings:

    • Ensure your routers have the latest firmware updates installed.
    • Check your router settings to ensure they are compatible with your printer, especially if using advanced features like mesh networking or band steering.
  3. Printer Firmware Update:

    • Verify that your printer has the latest firmware update. You can check for firmware updates on the HP Support website for your specific model.
  4. Check for IP Conflicts:

    • Ensure there are no IP address conflicts on your network. Setting a static IP address for the printer can sometimes prevent these issues.
  5. Disable Network Enhancements:

    • If your router offers any enhanced network features such as QoS (Quality of Service), consider temporarily disabling them and see if it resolves the printer issue.
  6. Isolation and Testing:

    • Isolate the printer on a dedicated network (e.g., guest network) to test if the issue persists when fewer devices are connected.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
