I have cancelled my printer ink and now i can’t use my printer
12-05-2020 06:49 AM

Hi,
This printer is driving me insane!!! This is the second one from hp I have had and nothing but problems
I cancelled my ink payment as I am not using printer as much now,
my printer is now totally blocked from printing out anything despite having ink left in it which I have already paid for!!!!!!! Printer says offline from computer
can’t seem to log back into set up printer ink monthly so I can use printer again!! Wouldn’t have stopped payment if I knew I wouldn’t be able to use my printer again!! Feel like it’s a total con, can’t use printer ink I have already paid for it’s a joke
any help would be great as I have looked online and the virtual agent is no help
thanks

How the service works, Cancellation, and Contract details are explained in the Terms of Service contract and at the Instant Ink website.
Example
FAQ section
Excerpted
Can I cancel or change my plan?
Yes. You can cancel your Instant Ink printing plan or change plans at any time. To change your plan or cancel your service, log in at hpinstantink.com/users/signin.
You can upgrade your plan in the current billing cycle or in the next billing cycle. Downgrades are effective in the next billing cycle.
Cancellation requests take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Because Instant Ink bills at the end of each billing cycle, you will receive one final monthly charge, if applicable to your account.
Instant Ink subscription cartridges only work while your printer is enrolled in Instant Ink, so you will need to purchase traditional cartridges at your favorite retailer to continue printing if you cancel.
For more details, see the HP Instant Ink Terms of Service.
=======================================================================
Ink is supplied as part of the Instant Ink Print-by-Page subscription service.
After the contract is cancelled, all Instant Ink cartridges must be removed from the Printer (and returned to HP).
What to do?
Remove the Instant Ink Cartridges
Purchase HP ink from your local or online retailer
Install the ink
Ideally, return the Instant Ink cartridges to HP (this service is free)
If you want to subscribe to Instant Ink, you can certainly do so.
Know that it takes a while to get the first shipment of Instant Ink cartridges (typically ten or more days to many regions).

No, you did not pay for the ink.
You paid for the subscription plan.
The ink was included while the subscription was active.
Service contract aside, I am sorry you didn't know about the details.
