HP Envy 6155e All-in-One Printer

I have unplugged and restarted everything.  Returned everything to factory and network settings, then setup it up again.  Downloaded and installed drivers.  I have done every single thing from the troubleshooting suggestions.  It still won't print.  It is connected to the WiFI.  I get "Unable to print. Rendering failed' and generic "Error printing" messages.

This printer only worked well for about the first two months I owned it, and after that I had to re-set everything every time I printed.  Now it is not working at all.  I have been working on this for four hours and I am no closer to having my documents.

Hi @Ragefilled,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing persistent issues with your HP Envy 6155e All-in-One Printer. Here are some additional steps you can try to resolve the "Rendering failed" and "Error printing" messages.

Verify Printer Status and Connectivity

Check Printer Queue: Ensure there are no stuck or paused documents in the printer queue. You can access the queue by going to Devices and Printers on your computer, right-clicking the printer icon, and selecting "See what's printing."

Printer Status and Network Connection: Verify that the printer is indeed connected to the Wi-Fi network and that it's accessible from other devices. You can print a network configuration report from the printer to check its connectivity status.

Update Firmware

  1. Firmware Update: Make sure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates via the HP app or the HP Support website, which might resolve underlying connectivity or printing issues.

Adjust Printer Settings

Render Print Jobs: Sometimes adjusting the spool settings can help:

  • Go to Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click the printer and select "Printer Properties."
  • Under the "Advanced" tab, make sure "Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster" is selected.

Driver and Software Reinstallation: Since you've already reinstalled drivers, ensure the latest HP app is installed and correctly configured. Sometimes, completely uninstalling the software and reinstalling via the latest version from the HP website can help.

Connectivity and Troubleshooting

Disable Firewall: Temporarily disable your computer's firewall to see if it's interfering with print jobs.

Change Printing Protocol: If using a Windows PC, try printing using another protocol. If it's set to WSD, try IPP or vice versa:

  • Go to Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your printer and select "Printer Properties."
  • Navigate to the "Ports" tab and try switching to another available protocol.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
