I have the same issue, solid orange light and the exclamation mark. After an hour with a tech in live chat they had no idea what the issue is. According to you the exclamation mark means an error but the tech couldn't find anything wrong. Are we just supposed to ignore it?

I am having no issues, it is a brand new printer that I just set up two days ago. I printed the information sheet a few times and it lists no problems.

In that case, you need not worry. Happy printing.

Is this light suppose to stay on all the time or only when there is an issue. I just bought this printer, setup went fine; but now this light is on all the time. If all is well with the printer should the light be go or be off?

You  didn't even read the [previous response before you responded to it.  What kind of help do you think you are?

She said the orange light STAYS ON and the EXCLAMATION POINT is STILL THERE NOT BLINKING....

WHY?

MY orange light will either be blinking or not....but the exclamation point is always there.

THERE IS NO ERROR, MY PRINTER IS CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET, and MY INK CARTRIDGES are FULL.

THE INFO PAGE SAYS not connected to the internet, the wireless page says that it is connected to the internet.  **bleep**.

IF THIS THING IS BLINKING and showing an exclamation because i have an HP BRANDED INK CARTRIDGE that is non-instant ink in it than thats extremely infuriating.l...OBVIOUSLY ITS NOT INSTANT INK I **bleep**ING BOUGHT IT AND PUT IT IN THERE. **bleep**.

READ THIS RESPONSE FULLY AND PROVIDE ME A FULL EXPLANATION AND FIX.

The yellow light is the resume button on the printer. It blinks when the printer is busy or a print job is under process.

This does not mean there is an error on the printer. It has to be a combination of lights that denote an error.

Kindly refer to this document for more info on this issue.

The exclamation mark on the printer display is as per the design. You can see this in the above document.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Well the HP employee says it's an error but did not tell us what it was. so .. on that. Anyone know why that amber light is on the exclamation button on a brand new printer

@Robbyt

I understand the information button light is always on.

It is as per design. The only time to worry about is when you have blinking lights or an error code.

For more info, refer to - Blinking Lights

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
