I need to be able to print with empty color cartridges because of the ink shortage. Need HP Rep.

I'm sure it is not news to HP that there are extreme shortages of Cyan ink (and sometimes yellow).  I am getting down to the last of my colors.

My HP printer must have some ink of each color available to print.  The HP support site says that there is NO WAY to bypass this feature.

This means that my printer will soon become a very expensive doorstop.  If that happens, this will be the last HP product I ever buy.

Does HP plan to release patches for printers that have this requirement so that printers can be used into color cartridges are back in stock?

If any of ink cartridge is empty the printer will stop printing, that is to protect the printhead from failure. There is no option to bypass that feature.

That does not answer my question.  I already stated that there is currently no option to bypass this feature.

The fact remains that many colors of ink are simply not available.  If HP is not going to be able to remedy this shortage in the very near future, they need to provide owners with a work around.

Otherwise, my printer will soon become a very expensive doorstop.

Does HP plan to release software patches for printers that have this requirement so that printers can be used into color cartridges are back in stock?  Or at least tell us if we can load colors that are available into open slots to keep the printer functional?  (for example, one yellow and 2 magenta, etc.)
