HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I have recently moved for USA to India and need to perform a regional reset on the HP Envy 4520 printer.

I purchased the HP original 803 ink cartridges which as per HP website  show as compatible with the printer.

On installing the new cartridges the printer shows an error " The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer".

A lot of search on the HP forums, I found that a regionalization reset is required but the HP tech support in India is not helping saying they do not have the required capabilities to do the same.

Contacted HP tech support yesterday after reading the document "https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02558798".

Is there any solution to this error and anyway I can do the reset?

@sokujee, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to use the ink cartridges after moving to a different country.

Yes, we need to perform a region reset to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
