Hi @knkc,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If the light on your HP ENVY Pro 6458 All-in-One Printer is blinking and the printer cannot print, it could indicate several possible issues. Here's a detailed guide to help you troubleshoot:
Ink Cartridge Issues:
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed.
- Check if the ink cartridges are low or out of ink. Replace them if necessary.
- If you use HP Instant Ink cartridges, make sure they are valid for your printer model.
Paper Jam:
- Check for any paper jams in the printer. Remove any stuck paper carefully.
- Open the ink cartridge access door and make sure there are no obstructions inside.
Network Connection:
- Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
- Restart your router and printer to refresh the connection.
Restarting the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Wait for about 30 seconds before reconnecting the power cord and turning the printer back on.
Software and Driver Issues:
- Ensure you have installed the latest printer drivers and software. For the HP ENVY Pro 6458, you can download drivers from the HP Support website.
Enabling HP Web Services:
- For the printer to work correctly with certain apps (like the Google Drive app), ensure that HP Web Services are enabled.
Remove & Reinstall Ink Cartridges:
- Lift the ink cartridge access door, remove the ink cartridges, and then reinsert them correctly.
Check Printer Connectivity:
- Make sure the printer is connected to the network correctly. For wireless printers, ensure the Wi-Fi signal is strong.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
Update or Reinstall Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support page to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
I hope this helps.
