HP Smart Tank 5107 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

All the lights blink including power button. Switching it off the power button still blinks. The printer is not recognised on my PC or on my Phone. Is this rectifiable?

@Stacey5107, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Smart Tank 5107!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I know it can be a bit unsettling to see all the lights on your new Smart Tank 5107 blinking like a disco instead of welcoming you calmly. Don’t worry — this usually points to the printer being stuck in its very first setup phase. Let’s try to bring it back on track:

Power reset – With the printer switched on, gently unplug the power cable from the back. Wait for about 60 seconds (let it fully “breathe out”), then reconnect and power it back on.

Check the setup sequence – On first use, the printer expects the ink tanks to be filled and the cartridges seated properly. If either step is incomplete, it may just keep flashing. Open the lid, make sure the cartridges are clicked in place and the tank caps are closed snugly.

Connection – Once the lights settle, try setting it up with the HP Smart app on your phone (ensure Wi-Fi is enabled and you’re close to the router). The app usually walks you through the remaining steps.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
