My printer is in public office.  I want to restrict printing to staff only.  Can I have a passcode on HP Jet Pro 8025e?

Hi @DrJ24,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Yes, you can set up a passcode or PIN to restrict printing on your HP Jet Pro 8025e printer. Here's how you can do it:

Setting up a PIN for Printing:

Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as your printer.
  • Enter the printer's IP address in the browser's address bar. You can find the printer's IP address by printing a network configuration page from the printer's control panel.

Login to the EWS:

  • When the EWS page opens, navigate to the security settings or printer settings section.
  • You might be prompted to enter a username and password. By default, the username is "admin" and the password is "admin" or leave it blank.

Set Up a PIN:

  • Look for options related to user authentication, security, or access control.
  • You should find an option to set up a PIN or passcode for printing.
  • Enter the PIN you want to use and save the settings.

Test the PIN:

  • After setting up the PIN, try printing a document from a computer connected to the printer.
  • When you send the print job, you should be prompted to enter the PIN on the printer's control panel before the print job is processed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
