Hello @Tlanier, and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

The blinking orange Information Light on your HP printer typically indicates that the printer needs attention. This could be due to a paper jam, low ink, cartridge issue, or connectivity problem. Let’s walk through the steps to identify and resolve the issue:

Check the Printer Control Panel or HP Smart App

  • If your printer has a display, look for an error message or icon.
  • If not, open the HP Smart app on your phone or PC. It will usually show the exact issue (e.g., paper jam, cartridge error, etc.).

Check for Paper Jams

  • Open all access doors (input tray, output tray, rear access if available).
  • Remove any jammed paper carefully.
  • Make sure the paper is loaded correctly and not curled or too thick.

Check Ink or Toner Cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Make sure all cartridges are installed correctly and are genuine HP cartridges.
  • If any cartridge is low or incompatible, replace it.

Check Wireless or USB Connection

  • If you're using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the correct network.
  • You can print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer’s control panel or via HP Smart.
  • For USB, try a different port or cable.

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
