Ink Cartridge Problem

HP Recommended
HP Envy 5530

I've just installed new colour and black ink cartridges after both had previously run out.  Now have a message in the control panel:

! Ink Cartridge Problem

The following ink cartridge(s) must be replaced: (followed by a pink dot to signify the colour cartridge).

I cannot remove this message.  I have tried cleaning the contacts and unplugging the printer from mains power and pressing the power button whilst off to discharge it further, but the message is still there when I switch back on.

I typically only print over wifi from my iphone so I don't use a desktop to manage the printer.

Please advise on how to remove the problem message? Thanks!

Hi @JRS96,

If you have already performed the steps from the document Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hope this helps!
