Hello @LesT2, and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
If the ink lights keep flashing on your HP DeskJet 2710e, even after installing new cartridges, it usually indicates a cartridge-related issue. Here's how to resolve it:
Check Cartridge Compatibility
Ensure you're using genuine HP 305 or HP 305XL cartridges (Black and Tri-color). Counterfeit or incompatible cartridges can trigger blinking lights.
Reseat the Cartridges
Sometimes, cartridges may not be seated properly.
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove both cartridges.
- Gently clean the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth.
- Reinsert them firmly until they click into place.
Clean Cartridge Contacts
If the issue persists, clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer using a slightly damp lint-free cloth.
Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn on the printer.
Check for Error Icons
If the Ink Alert light, Error icon, or Ink Level icons are blinking, it may indicate:
- A missing or damaged cartridge.
- Low ink levels.
- Incompatible cartridge.
