Installed printer cartridges in HP8015e and now stuck in canceling mode

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet 8015e is stuck in "Canceling" mode after installing new cartridges, try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Check if the issue persists.

2. Reset the Printer

  • Perform a hard reset:
    1. While the printer is powered on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
    2. Unplug the other end from the wall outlet.
    3. Wait for 2–3 minutes.
    4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

3. Verify Cartridge Installation

  • Open the cartridge access door and ensure the cartridges are correctly seated in their slots.
  • Remove and reinstall the cartridges:
    • Gently remove each cartridge.
    • Check for any protective tape still on the cartridge contacts.
    • Reinsert the cartridges firmly into their respective slots.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to SetupPrinter MaintenanceUpdate the Printer.
  • If the printer is connected to the internet, update the firmware.

5. Perform a Factory Reset

  • Navigate to SetupPrinter MaintenanceRestoreRestore Factory Defaults.
  • Follow the prompts to reset the printer.

6. Run a Printer Diagnostic

  • Use the HP Smart App to run a diagnostic test:
    • Open the app on your computer or mobile device.
    • Navigate to the printer and select Diagnostics & Fixes.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions.

7. Clear Any Print Queue

  • Open the Devices and Printers section on your Windows 11 system.
  • Right-click the HP OfficeJet 8015e and select See what's printing.
  • Clear the print queue by selecting Cancel all documents.
