My Officejet 8620 is printing blank pages.  I have replaced all cartridges with new Instant Ink ones.  I have run all of the maintenance checks to clean the print head - all of these complete without error,  but the output is always blank. The Virtual Agent suggests buying a new printhead,  however, at a cost of £100 I am reluctant to do so if it may not resolve the issue - the printer is not reporting any error with the printhead. How likely is a new printhead to fix the issue,  and if it doesn't,   will the HP Store allow me to return it?

We cannot speak for HP Sales nor can we tell you the outcome of your efforts to repair the printer.

My personal opinion :

No, the printer is not worth the effort - the printer is old (product introduced in 2014).

These particular new parts may not be enough to fix it.

The return is only possible if the merchant from whom you purchase the print head allows refunds on used parts.

What you can do is a matter of the return policy posted by the merchant.

Generally, we recommend that you direct inquiries regarding purchases to the HP Store Customer Service:

HP Store - UK - Contact the Store

Select a subject type

Select that you need help with a purchase

Were it me, I'd replace the old printer with a shiny new printer that supports all the options to which you have become accustomed.  Read carefully, in other words, to be sure  you get what you expect.
