Is it possible to use Black Ink only with glossy paper?  I have no color left but maximum black ink and I want to print in black&white on glossy.

It depends on a printer model, not on a paper type you are trying to print.

If you can print on plain paper in black only you will be able to print on a glossy paper too.

I have HP 6978.

 

Whenn I choose paper type Glossy, it refuses to let me print with black ink only.  There some way around this?

Check for settings in the print driver is set to print in balck&white or grayscale. Use black&white setting.
