Hi @OHORTUA

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If you are experiencing a "Door Open" error message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e All-in-One printer even when the door is closed, here are several steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Ensure the Cartridge Access Door is Fully Closed:

  • Open the cartridge access door and check for any obstructions preventing the door from closing properly.
  • Remove any torn paper or debris that might be blocking the door.
  • Reinsert any parts removed during cleaning and ensure they are properly seated.
  • Close the door firmly, ensuring it is fully seated.

Reboot the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds before reconnecting the power cord.
  • Press the power button to turn on the printer again.

Inspect and Relocate Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access door while the printer is off.
  • Check the positioning of the ink cartridges and ensure they are properly installed.
  • Manually slide the carriage to ensure no blockage exists around it.
  • Close the access door and turn on the printer once more.

Resetting Hardware Components:

  • Ensure that all printer components like the cartridge path cover are inserted properly to avoid interference with the door.
  • Close the access door again securely.
