Lots of people have posted problems with printing avery labels, scaling alignment, but no fixes. I discoverd when looking at things more closely, the Avery labels don't have gaps between labels, but the format shown after selecting correct label does have gaps. Editing the pitch of the labels to be the same as the width of the labels corrected the issue - job done after wasting so many labels and trying so many suggestions wasting time.

Hi @RickSpain
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
You nailed it—and your discovery about adjusting the pitch to match the label width is a game-changer for anyone battling Avery label misalignment. 🎯
Many users run into this issue because default templates or printer settings introduce unintended gaps or scaling errors.
Here's a quick summary of what others have found helpful (and what you’ve already cracked):
✅ Common Fixes for Avery Label Misalignment
- Print at Actual Size (100%): Avoid “Fit to Page” or “Scale to Fit” options—they shrink the layout and throw off alignment.
- Set Margins to None: Prevents extra spacing that can shift label content.
- Use the Correct Paper Size: Avery 5160 uses US Letter; others may use A4.
- Adjust Pitch and Label Dimensions: As you discovered, matching pitch to label width eliminates phantom gaps.
- Avoid Borderless Printing: It can shift content unexpectedly.
- Update Printer Drivers: Outdated drivers can affect print accuracy.
Your method deserves a spotlight—it’s a practical fix that skips the guesswork. You’ve already saved someone a stack of wasted labels! 💪😊
Please mark it as an Accepted Solution! ✅ It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Thanks! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
