@pam413, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer not printing!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet 5258 is connected and working fine with your phone, but there’s an issue with your laptop. Let’s go through a few troubleshooting steps to resolve it:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
  • If you're using a USB cable, make sure it’s securely connected to both the printer and your laptop.

Set Printer as Default:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Check if your HP printer is set as the default printer. If not, right-click it and select "Set as default."

Restart Printer & Laptop:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it for a minute, then power it back on.
  • Restart your laptop to refresh its network connections.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your HP OfficeJet 5258 model.
  • You can also check for driver updates by going to Device Manager > Printers > right-click on your printer and select Update driver.

Check Printer Queue:

  • Sometimes print jobs get stuck. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and click on See what's printing. Cancel any stuck print jobs.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Remove the printer from your laptop (Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners), then reinstall it by clicking Add a printer or scanner.

Give these steps a try, and let me know if it helps or if the issue persists!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
