Hi @RTZ1231,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Error 11 on the HP LaserJet MFP 1429w typically indicates a problem related to the toner cartridge or the toner cartridge detection system. If replacing the cartridge hasn't resolved the issue, here are several steps to troubleshoot and resolve the error:
**1. Check and Reinstall the Toner Cartridge
- Power Off and Unplug:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Remove and Inspect Cartridge:
- Open the printer’s access door to remove the toner cartridge.
- Check for any protective tapes or covers that might still be on the new cartridge.
- Reinstall the Cartridge:
- Reinstall the cartridge carefully, ensuring it is properly seated and secured.
- Power On:
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on to see if the error clears.
**2. Inspect the Cartridge Contacts
- Clean Contacts:
- Use a soft, dry cloth to gently clean the electrical contacts on both the toner cartridge and inside the printer where the cartridge connects.
- Check for Damage:
- Look for any visible damage to the cartridge contacts or the printer’s contact points.
**3. Check for Cartridge Compatibility
- Verify Cartridge Model:
- Ensure that the toner cartridge is compatible with the HP LaserJet MFP 1429w. Use only HP-branded cartridges or those recommended by HP.
**4. Reset the Printer
- Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
**5. Check for Firmware Updates
- Update Firmware:
- Visit the HP Support website and search for the HP LaserJet MFP 1429w.
- Download and install the latest firmware update, as firmware issues can sometimes cause cartridge errors.
**6. Perform a Printer Self-Test
- Run Diagnostics:
- Access the printer’s self-test or diagnostics mode (refer to the printer’s manual for instructions) to check for any issues or error codes.
**7. Inspect Printer Internals
- Check for Obstructions:
- Look inside the printer for any paper jams, foreign objects, or obstructions that might be affecting the toner cartridge or print mechanism.
- Check for Physical Damage:
- Inspect the printer for any visible signs of physical damage that might affect its operation.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
