HP officejet pro 8715
iOS 10 - 10.3.3

I'm trying to set up a new HP officejet pro 8715 printer, but after installing the setup cartridges I get the message that multiple cartridges are leaking. In fact none of them is leaking. I tried to install them again, but keep getting this message. Now I cannot finish the installation and not use the printer.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • Make sure the orange protective plastic tape is removed from all the 4 ink cartridges before inserting them in the printer.

Performing a power reset on the printer, cleaning the ink cartridges may resolve this issue. Let us try these steps:

Step 1: Reset the printer

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

2. Wait at least 60 seconds.

3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Step 2: Clean the ink cartridges and Reseat the printhead

Perform step 3, 4 and 7 from this document.

If the error still exists, resetting the printer to its factory settings may help.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
