Yes, thank you! I will be searching for my printer and trying to fix it. If it works out, you would have given me the best Christmas gift: saved me a ton of money!

Update: my 8610 is not among the devices so I am still deep in this problem 😕

I am having the same issue. HP told me it's a problem with my printer and I need to buy a new one. Absolutely unacceptable. I bought this expensive printer last year. Has anyone figured out a resolution yet?

The downgrade cannot even fire off for me as I cannot read windows files.  BUT, as I wrote, find a provider who has the updated chips.  I provided a list in a prior response.  Mine is working great now.

ME2, and how about the suitation now in 2020? I dont want to buy a organial ink cartridge, it is because it unforrable for a long term. I am a HK user, sorry for my Konglish. I hope for I can find out a better way to slove my problem. Thanks a lot.

I have gone through your Post and I understand your concerns

 

Unfortunately there is no way to reverse or downgrade the firmware

Oh, I am soooo sorry to disappoint you byt YES, it is possible to downgrade and I have already done so. 

This is a disgusting service. After so many years using HP hardware, I was honestly expecting a different treatment.

Other HP users are being informed about the possibility and downloadable downgrade.

It is my printer and I do with it what I want, not what HP wants. 

The link to the software is being distributed amongst users.

Im also having issues with compatible  cartriches not working . Mine were brand BONINK  bought in amazon.
