Hi @Bburke4,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To find the printer ID and password for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9729e, follow these steps.

Printer ID

Print a Configuration Page:

  • Press the Home button on the printer's control panel.
  • Navigate to Setup (the gear icon).
  • Select Reports and then choose Network Summary or Configuration Page. This will print a report containing the printer ID.

Check the Printer’s Display:

  • If your printer has a touchscreen, go to Settings > Network. The printer ID may be displayed there.

Wi-Fi Password

Default Password:

  • If you haven't changed the password, the default Wi-Fi password is usually located on a label on the printer or in the printer’s documentation.

Check the Printer Settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Network > Wireless to view the Wi-Fi settings, including the current password if available.

Access Through HP Smart App:

  • If you have the HP Smart app installed on your device, you can connect to the printer and check the network settings there, which may include the Wi-Fi password.

Resetting the Printer

If you cannot find the information above, you might consider resetting the network settings to restore the default password. Keep in mind that this will disconnect the printer from your network, and you will need to set it up again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
