Besides keeping the printer level, what else should I do when transporting my printer into a store?  I have removed the ink carts. Is there anything to lock down in terms of preventing ink discharge?

I plan on putting in a box with packing material around the printer.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Ok, then just keeping it level should suffice. (Do not ask me about the ink stains on my carpet from the time I tucked a printer under my arm and carried it into the house sideways :-).

Are you driving the printer to the store or shipping it?  If you are driving it the main thing to do would to keep the printer level as you have noted already.  Tipping the printer can cause ink leakage from the service area, which can be messy.

Make sure you have turned the printer off from its power switch and make sure the printhead has moved to the parked position.

Hi Bob!

Thanks for your reply.  Yes, I am planning on driving this little beast to Best Buy for their recycle program.

Hi Bob,

Thank you again for taking the time to answer my question. I sympathize with the experience of ink on the carpet: nothing gets that stuff out.  I thought the printer was self contained but as soon as I lifted my Hp 6268, it was all over in minutes.

Thanks again!
