I need to know what Ribbon Cable is used for the LCD control Panel on the MF 283CDW.

I think it's a 20 pin, but if someone has some specific on what to look for, I would appreciate it.

Had to clean the mirrors due to faded printing on this machine, when plugging in the control panel LCD screen I noticed some of the pins were destroyed when reinserting.

Go to the below site and enter your serial number
https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/

Look for the part you need such as fan, cable, battery, etc.
If looking to replace a cable (for example) the HP part# is usually on a tag and the manufacturers part is sometimes printed on the cable. If no picture is shown then search for images of the listed HP part# and compare it to your broken part.

Once you find the part number you can search the internet for a vendor. Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, all have their own search engines.

Display Screen: Screens can have OEM parts such as LG, Samsung, etc. An HP part number may include the OEM screen plus mounting hardware which makes it easier to replace but sometimes harder to find if the system is older than a few years.

Look for the part you need, it may be called 'enclosure' or something else.  It may be in a table of parts named 'unknown' so either look at the image or search for the part number on the internet.

For more information read this article on how to find parts.

Already did the parts surfer, there is a total of 4 different types of ribbon cables, 3 different sizes that are easily seen.  The one for the LCD screen is not listed on parts surfer and there are no pictures listed with the 2 existing cables that are listed on the site.  The cables have really zero description, and are not helpful.

The actual cable itself has zero information written on the cable, on either end, nor on the flat part of the actual cable itself.

While I appreciate your suggestion, I still need the information.

As these units were never designed with repair in mind, finding parts, as you have found is almost impossible. HP does not even produce a service manual for this model, at least one I can find on my technician site. The problem is while they use the same cable exclusively on one model, they tend to change on every model. You can purchase bulk FFC cable on Ebay and if you get some with the right number of contacts you could try making your own, or if it is the edge connectors that have come loose you could try this method to fix them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piALKtMs3Gk
