Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

I have an HP MFP M479fdw. The printer works well except in one respect. When it prints, and a piece of paper comes out of the printer, the printer makes a soft clicking sound at the point of exit. That sound was not previously present. Until the last few days, the the printer made only normal printer sounds. The quality of the printing is fine, but the noise is annoying. It sounds a little bit like something is stuck at the exit point of the printer and rubs against the paper. I appreciate all suggestions.
