Note for common printer problems
Customers receiving the"will damage your computer" message along with others like "unable to access cups/tmp" or "'@%' cannot be opened" need to update their version of the macOS. Magenta ink not coming through

Hi,

 

I usually have the HP instant ink but it hasn’t arrived in time so I have had to purchase my own coloured ink as it has ran out. Purchased the correct official ink from Argos and put the new ink in the printer. Printed a few sheets and it seemed fine but now it seems that the magenta colour is not coming through... I’m trying to print a lot of red things and they are coming out yellow. I’ve aligned the printer, used the clean cartridge facility on the printer... any other suggestions please? I have urgent printing to do so any help would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand the printer is not printing in magenta. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

Make sure you have tried cleaning the ink cartridge up to 3 cycles.

Refer to step 9 in this document.

Note: If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you clean the ink cartridges again.

 

Also, perform step 12 from the same document.

 

If the issue persists, as the issue is related to Instant ink cartridges, I need more information to help you out.
