Supplies memory error indicates that either the printer cannot read the chip on the cartridge or the reader in the printer has failed. Easiest (only) way to test if to insert another cartridge and see if it works. If 2 actual HP cartridges fail then either the reader in the printer is broken or the DC controller has failed.
