My Deskjet 3755 is only printing two of seven columns of my excel spreadsheet. I've tried everything including downloading updated software. The columns appear in the print preview, but do not print when requested.

Hi @FLVK,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it is when your printer only prints part of your document, especially when everything looks correct in the print preview.

You're using the HP DeskJet 3755, and it’s only printing two of seven columns in your Excel spreadsheet, even though the full content shows correctly in Print Preview. That tells us the issue is likely related to page scaling, margins, or printer communication, not the file or printer driver itself.

Step-by-Step Fix for Excel Not Printing All Columns:

1. Check Page Scaling in Excel

  • Go to File > Print.
  • Under Settings, look for:
    • "No Scaling" → Change it to "Fit Sheet on One Page" or "Fit All Columns on One Page".
  • This ensures Excel resizes the content to fit within the printable area.

2. Set Print Area

  • Highlight all 7 columns and rows you want to print.
  • Go to Page Layout > Print Area > Set Print Area.
  • Then try printing again.

3. Adjust Page Orientation and Margins

  • Go to the Page Layout tab:
    • Set Orientation to Landscape.
    • Set Margins to Narrow or Custom Margins to maximize space.

4. Check Printer Settings

  • In the Print dialog, click Printer Properties.
  • Make sure:
    • Paper size is set to Letter (8.5x11) or your actual paper size.
    • No scaling or borderless printing is interfering.

5. Try Saving as PDF First

  • Go to File > Save As > PDF.
  • Open the PDF and print from a PDF viewer like Adobe Acrobat.
  • This can bypass Excel-to-printer formatting issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Thank you for your response VikramTheGreat, it is much appreciated. I went line by line but with no improvement. The print setup was my first choice also. I have two similar worksheets in the excel file in question and the first of the two prints perfectly. Therefore, I assumed I had somehow screwed up the print set up somewhere in the second. I print the workheet weekly and it worked fine the prior week. But that doesn't seem to be the issue in this case. Part of the problem may be in the fact that I'm using a USB cable. I read that it may be an issue with the 3755, so I replaced the cable, however it didn't help either. Thank you for taking the time.
