@DoubleRider, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP 4650!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP OfficeJet 4650 printer has suddenly become unresponsive, try these troubleshooting steps:

Basic Checks

Restart Printer & Devices: Turn off the printer, unplug it for 1-2 minutes, and restart your computer/router.
Check Connections: Ensure the printer is properly connected via Wi-Fi or USB. If using Wi-Fi, confirm it's connected to the correct network.

For Wireless Connection Issues

  1. Reconnect Wi-Fi: Go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings on the printer and reconnect to your network.
  2. Restart Router: Power cycle your router and try printing again.
  3. Print Wireless Network Test Report: Go to Setup > Reports > Print Wireless Test Report to check for network issues.

For USB Connection Issues

✔ Try using a different USB port or cable.
✔ Reinstall the HP printer driver on your computer.

Software & Driver Fixes

  1. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (for Windows) – Download from HP’s website to fix issues automatically.
  2. Check Printer Status: Ensure it's set as the default printer in Control Panel > Devices & Printers.
  3. Update/Reinstall Drivers: Download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

Check for Paper Jams & Ink Issues

✔ Open the printer and check for any paper jams.
✔ Make sure ink cartridges are installed correctly and not empty.

If none of these work, try resetting the printer:

  1. Turn off the printer, unplug it for 5 minutes.
  2. Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.

Let me know if the issue persists! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
