Hi @Peter402,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 559 printer is flashing the blue light and Wi-Fi symbol continuously, it indicates that it’s having trouble connecting to your wireless network. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Restart Your Devices
- Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.
- Router: Restart your router by unplugging it, waiting for about 30 seconds, and plugging it back in.
2. Check Wi-Fi Connection
- Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is functioning properly and that other devices can connect to it.
- Check the distance between the printer and the router. Ensure there are no obstructions that might interfere with the signal.
3. Re-Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Wireless or Network settings.
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard or a similar option.
- Follow the prompts to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
4. Use WPS (if available)
- If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), you can connect your printer using this method.
- Press the WPS button on your router, then within two minutes, press the WPS button on your printer.
5. Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.
6. Reset Network Settings
- If you are still having issues, consider resetting the network settings on the printer. This can usually be done in the network settings menu on the printer.
7. Check for Interference
- Ensure that there are no other devices (like microwaves or cordless phones) that may be causing interference with the Wi-Fi signal.
8. Use HP Smart App
- Download the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. This app can help you set up the printer and manage its settings.
9. Reboot Everything
- If the problem persists, try rebooting your computer, printer, and router again after making changes.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
