Hi @poudrebill,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 printer is not printing cyan despite installing a new cartridge and running several test prints, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Ensure that the cyan ink cartridge is properly installed in the correct slot.
  • Remove the cartridge and reinsert it, making sure it clicks securely into place.

2. Remove Protective Tape

  • Double-check that you have removed any protective tape or packaging from the cyan ink cartridge before installation.

3. Run Printhead Cleaning

  • Use the printer's built-in printhead cleaning utility to clean the printhead.
  • Follow the instructions on the printer's control panel or software to initiate the printhead cleaning process.Run the printhead cleaning cycle multiple times if necessary.

4. Perform Printhead Alignment

  • Run the printhead alignment utility to ensure that the printhead is properly aligned for optimal print quality.Follow the instructions on the printer's control panel or software to perform printhead alignment.

5. Check Ink Levels

  • Verify that the cyan ink cartridge has sufficient ink levels. You can check the ink levels through the printer's control panel or software.

6. Print a Diagnostic Page

  • Print a diagnostic page from the printer's control panel to check if the cyan ink is being dispensed properly.
  • If the diagnostic page shows missing or streaky cyan color, there may be an issue with the printhead or cartridge.

7. Inspect for Clogs

  • Inspect the cyan ink cartridge and printhead for any clogs or obstructions.
  • Use a damp lint-free cloth to gently clean the printhead and cartridge contacts.

8. Update Printer Firmware

  • Check for firmware updates for your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 printer.
  • Visit the HP Support website and download/install any available firmware updates for your printer model.

9. Try Another Cyan Cartridge

  • If possible, try using another cyan ink cartridge to see if the issue persists.
  • It's possible that the cartridge itself may be faulty.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
