HP 6978 printer

My 6978 printer stopped printing black.  Have tried all of the printer clean steps and printer resets with no luck.  Help.

If you have tried all the troubleshooting steps in this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05076934 I suggest you contact HP Support for Service Options

 

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/ 
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device. 
4) Select the country from the drop-down. 
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

So after talking to HP support, the conclusion was I need to replace the printer, which was 14 months old, 2 months out of warranty.  Not a good commentary on HP printers that fail right after warranty expires.  

 

And they could not provide me with a decent discounted price on a replacement.  I got a better deal buying one from a store locally.  Another negative on HP support.

 

I am a former long time HP employee - this is quite disappointing.

Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
