I have replaced the cartridges, turned the printer on and off, and it still gives the message and will not print.

@mystified5, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I understand how frustrating that must be. The “Problem with the supply system” error on your HP OfficeJet 9015 usually points to an issue with the ink cartridge system or the printer’s internal ink delivery mechanism. Let’s go through a few steps to resolve it:

Power Reset

Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.

Wait for at least 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.

Reseat Ink Cartridges

Open the cartridge access door and remove all the ink cartridges.

Check for any ink or debris on the electrical contacts (the small gold-colored squares).

Gently wipe them with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.

Reinstall the cartridges firmly until each clicks into place.

Check for Cartridge Authenticity

Make sure you are using original HP ink cartridges and not refilled or third-party ones.

Non-HP cartridges can sometimes trigger this system error.

Update Printer Firmware

On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup → Printer Maintenance → Update the Printer.

If your printer is connected to Wi-Fi, allow it to check for and install any firmware updates.

Run a Printer Self-Test

After restarting, try printing a Quality Diagnostic Page from the printer’s touchscreen.

If it still shows the same error, proceed to the next step.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried the on off, and yes I had installed real HP ink cartridges. However, when I got a message stating two cartridges were low on ink, by mistake I replaced them with two empty HP cartridges . I had been away from this setting for several months and thought the cartridges in the drawer were full. That may have doomed the printer.

So I installed brand new HP cartridges, but still got the supply problem message. I carefully cleaned the area where the cartridges go in with a damp, clean cloth, and cleaned the bottom of the cartridges with a damp, clean cloth and that did not work. Same supply error message.

Research indicated there are zero facilities that actually try to repair HP printers, so I gave up and turned the printer into Best Buy for recycling and bought a new 9125e to replace it. Very disappointed the 9015 busted permanently after such minimal mistakes with it. Very finicky machine.
