HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw

My HP Color Lazerjet Pro MFP M277dw won't stop initializing. I have tried a reset, unplugging, taking out cartridges. Once I turn on the printer it just states initializing.....I left it on for days and I still get nothing other than this message.

@WhiteSiberian, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

When your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw is stuck on initializing, there are several approaches you can take to resolve the issue:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet first and then into the printer.
  • Turn on the printer.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure there are no paper jams within the printer by inspecting the paper path and removing any stuck paper.

Inspect the Cartridges:

  • Remove the toner cartridges and reinsert them to ensure they are correctly seated.
  • Check for any residual packaging material that might have been left inside the cartridge area.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, if the problem persists, you may consider a factory reset. This process will restore the printer to its original state:
    • From the printer's control panel, go to "Setup."
    • Scroll to and select "Restore Defaults" or a similar option.
    • Confirm any prompts to proceed with the reset.

Check Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Go to the HP website 123.hp.com/laserjet to download and install any available updates using a computer.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
