The white power-on button is flashing white with a 0 in the message screen. I don't know what that means. Everything was fine with the old inks, but when I removed them and replaced them with new HP inks HP had sent me, it wouldn't print anything; it just had lots of flashing buttons that meant nothing to me. So I took out the inks, thinking they were the problem, and made sure all the paper casing that held the inks had been removed. I replaced the inks again, but I have the same problem, only now the white power-on button is flashing. Both my laptop and my printer are plugged into neighbouring sockets in the house wall and use the same Sky modem for internet, etc. I'm an 80-year-old grandmother who is not a techy person, but I have good knowledge of using PCs and laptops. All my printers have always been HP printers, since the late 1980s. This is the first time I've not been able to fix any printer problem myself. PLEASE HELP ME resolve this problem. Regards, JackieStar

I understand your HP DeskJet 2810e printer stopped working right after you replaced the ink cartridges, and the white power button is flashing with a “0” showing on the display. Let’s go through a few simple steps to check what could be causing this.
Restart the Printer
Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on. This helps reset the printer’s internal system.
Check Ink Cartridge Installation
Open the ink cartridge access door and make sure both cartridges are firmly seated in their correct slots.
The black cartridge goes on the right, and the tri-colour cartridge goes on the left. Push them gently until they click into place.
Remove Any Packing Material
Ensure that all orange plastic tabs, transparent films, or protective tapes have been completely removed from the new cartridges.
Even a small piece left behind can stop the printer from recognizing the ink properly.
Check for Cartridge Errors
If the light continues to flash, remove both cartridges.
Wipe the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges gently with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water, then dry and reinstall them.
Wait for Initialization
After reinstalling, close the cartridge door and wait for the printer to make some internal movement sounds.
This process may take about 1–2 minutes. Wait until it stops before trying to print.
Verify Cartridge Authenticity
Make sure you’re using original HP 305 or HP 305XL cartridges (depending on your region).
Non-HP or refilled cartridges can sometimes trigger blinking lights and detection errors.
Check Wireless or USB Connection
Ensure your printer and laptop are connected to the same Wi-Fi network or try connecting the printer directly to your laptop using a USB cable.
Then, try printing a test page.
Reset the Printer
With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the printer (not the wall), wait for 60 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on again.
This performs a more complete hardware reset.
I hope this helps.
