HP ENVY Photo 7158 All-in-One Printer

My HP ENVY Photo 7158 wont get past the start up screen - white background, hp logo in blue, line at the bottom, and 7 dots.   I've unplugged from the power source and printer overnight and still the same.  I unplugged everything again and held the power button for 15 seconds and nothing.  The printer will not power off when I hold the power button down.  I tried downloading firmware update, but there is no communication with the printer so this doesn't work either.   PLEASE help!!!  I need my printer and scanner working correctly to help complete paperwork following my father's death.  Thank you!!

When did this problem happen?  Was it after a firmware upgrade to the printer?

Most inkjet firmware upgrades install software that require genuine HP ink.

It happed about 3 days ago, but today is the first day I've had time to mess with it.  I left it unplugged overnight and no help.  I'm not sure if there have been any software updates or not.
