My HP Envy 5540 started out not printing and then I got error message OXB88889E4, now I can't get the error message to go away. I tried unplugging and restarting, nothing is working.

Hi @Maggotface,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Envy 5540 isn't printing and displays error code OXB88889E4, try clearing the printer queue, restarting both the printer and computer, and checking for paper jams or obstructions.

1. Clear the Printer Queue:

  • Go to your computer's printer settings and find the printer queue.
  • Cancel any pending print jobs.

2. Restart the Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart your computer.

Let me know if it helps.
