Hi @sallyswh,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the blue screen with the error code B8677646 on your HP Envy Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer suggests a system or firmware issue. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the problem:

Step 1: Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet.
  5. Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.

Step 2: Reset the Printer

If the power cycle doesn't work, you can try performing a basic reset:

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  2. While unplugged, press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to release any residual charge.
  3. Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Step 3: Check for Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer

  1. Go to the HP Customer Support website and check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer.
  2. If a firmware update is available, download and install it following the provided instructions.

Step 4: Hard Reset via Printer Control Panel

If the issue persists:

  1. On the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings.
  2. Select Restore Factory Defaults. This will reset the printer to its original settings (you may need to reconfigure the printer afterward).

Refer to this document: HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
