HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-in-One Printer

HP Envy  Pro 6455.  Lights started flashing so I turned it off.  Wouldn't turn back on.  About 4 years old with no problems.

Hi @Teri50

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that your HP Envy Pro 6455 has stopped working! It sounds like the printer has encountered an issue, and it may be related to power or internal components. Let's walk through a few troubleshooting steps to get your printer working again.

1. Check the Power Supply and Cable

  • Ensure the power cable is securely connected: Double-check that the power cable is properly plugged into both the printer and the power outlet. If the printer is plugged into a power strip, try plugging it directly into a wall socket to rule out any issues with the power strip.
  • Try a different outlet: Sometimes outlets can fail. Test the printer on a different outlet to confirm that it's receiving power.

2. Reset the Printer

  • Perform a hard reset to clear any temporary errors:
    1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall socket.
    2. Wait for 60 seconds to allow the printer to reset fully.
    3. Plug the power cord back into the printer and the power source.
    4. Press the Power button to turn it on.

This can help reset the internal components and might resolve any errors preventing it from turning on.

3. Check for Paper Jams or Blockages

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions that might be blocking the printer's internal mechanisms. If there's a jam, carefully remove any stuck paper.
  • Ensure that the cartridges are properly seated, and nothing is preventing the print head from moving freely.

4. Check the Printer’s Display for Error Messages

  • When the printer powers on, check the display (if it has one) for any error messages. If there is a flashing light pattern or error code, refer to the printer’s manual or the HP support website to interpret the error.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
