I really do not know what "board" means. My problem is that the above printer will not print from my document file. The printer actually works from the print menue but not from my computer which has a windows 10. I am not tech savy. Where do I start to get answer to this problem?

Hi @JudyG7,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Office Jet 3830 printer is not printing documents from your computer's files, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Check Printer Connections: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or Wi-Fi network. Sometimes loose connections can cause printing issues.
  • Restart Printer and Computer: Turn off your printer and computer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Make sure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can do this by visiting the HP website, searching for your printer model, and downloading the latest drivers for Windows 10.
  • Check Print Queue: Sometimes, print jobs can get stuck in the print queue, preventing new documents from printing. Open the print queue on your computer and cancel any pending print jobs.
  • Check Printer Settings: Ensure that your HP Office Jet 3830 is set as the default printer on your computer. You can do this by going to the Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-clicking on your printer, and selecting "Set as default printer."
  • Run Printer Troubleshooter: Windows 10 includes a built-in printer troubleshooter that can help diagnose and fix common printing problems. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and then select the Printer troubleshooter.
  • Reinstall Printer: If none of the above steps work, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the printer on your computer. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select "Remove device." Then, reinstall the printer using the latest drivers from the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
