My Officejet 2620 printer & copier won't make copies after changing the ink cartridge with an official HP ink cartridge.    The printout page was different than normal and when scanned, apparently wasn't accepted by the printer.

Hi @john3colo ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Officejet 2620. Here’s a step-by-step approach to troubleshoot and resolve the copying issue:

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinsert them, making sure they click into place.

Print a Test Page:

  • Try printing a test page from the printer’s menu. This will help verify if the printer is functioning correctly with the new cartridge.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it. Remove the cartridges and gently clean the contacts on both the cartridges and the printer with a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water. Allow them to dry completely before reinserting them.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure your printer drivers are up-to-date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.

Check Copy Settings:

  • Verify that the copy settings on the printer are set correctly. If possible, try adjusting the settings to see if it resolves the issue.

Use the Printer’s Built-In Diagnostics:

  • Many HP printers have built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify and troubleshoot issues. Check the printer’s menu for any diagnostic or troubleshooting options.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
