My HP office jet pro 9010e keeps sending my print to fax recipient. How do I fix this?

Hi @jenmoh

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your printer is mistakenly sending print jobs to a fax recipient instead of printing. You need to check and modify some settings. Here are the steps you can follow to resolve this issue:

  1. Check Default Printer Settings:
    • Open the Control Panel on your computer and navigate to Devices and Printers.
    • Locate your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e printer. If it's labelled with "Fax," it may be set as the default device.
    • Right-click on the printer that does not include "Fax" in the name and select Set as default printer

  2. Remove Fax Option from Print Dialog:
    • When you open a document and select Print, ensure that you select the correct printer (without the fax tag) from the drop-down list of available printers.
    • Refrain from selecting the fax option unless you intend to send a fax.

  3. Check Printer Properties:
    • Again, in the Devices and Printers menu, right-click the non-fax version of your printer and select Printer properties.
    • Check the configuration and ensure that the printer is not mistakenly set as a fax machine for default actions.

  4. Printer Software/Driver Update:
    • Ensure you have the latest driver and software updates for your HP printer.
    • Visit https://support.hp.com/us-en  to download updates if required.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
